Shaqwana was born and raised in Washington, DC. While interviewing members of the Russ Parr Morning Show for an undergraduate class assignment, she landed an internship with the show. In just a year, she turned that internship into a full time position as Assistant Producer and On Air personality. Over the subsequent 5 years as Assistant Producer, Shaqwana board oped, created show production, booked guests, and prepared comprehensive quarterly reports to fulfill the show’s FCC requirements. She is the voice behind crazy characters like May Ling, Alicia Keys, and ‘Wiggy’ Houston to name a few. Shaqwana has hosted parties nationally as well as attended many industry events and awards shows. Her sharp-tongue and sassiness mixed with a glam appeal has dubbed her “The Radio Vixen”. Shaqwana is also the Engineer/ Producer for “On the Air”, Russ Parr’s weekend show, which airs in over 25 markets nationwide. In addition to her radio career, Shaqwana has started her path to her acting career. Shaqwana has made appearances in ‘The Last Stand’ (2006), ‘Something Like A Business’ (2008), ‘Misunderstandings’ (2008). With her new found passion coupled with her love for radio and the gift of gab, Shaqwana will definitely be one to watch out for. Shaqwana continues to challenge and transpire as the voice of her generation.
